Background: Inflammation is a critical component in the process of resolved hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) serves as a sensitive indicator of systemic inflammation and immune activation. Our study aimed to investigate the correlation between elevated NLR levels and the risk of all-cause mortality in patients with resolved HBV infection.

Objectives: The chemiluminescence immunoassay automated Abbott ARCHITECT hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) screening assay is globally recognized for its superior sensitivity but notably low specificity. This mandates positive results confirmation by another confirmatory assay, such as the widely used Abbott ARCHITECT HBsAg neutralizing assay. This study aimed to evaluate the performance of the new chemiluminescence immunoassay, Mindray CL-900i HBsAg screening assay in comparison to the ARCHITECT neutralizing/confirmatory assay.

Background: Traditional childhood uvulectomy (TCU) is an unregulated cultural practice associated with significant health risks, including infections, anemia, aspiration, and oral or pharyngeal injuries. The reuse of unsafe tools such as blades, needles, or thread loops exacerbates the spread of infectious diseases like HIV and hepatitis B. Despite its clinical significance, the pooled prevalence and associated factors of TCU have not been adequately examined through systematic reviews or meta-analyses.

Background: Alanine aminotransferase (ALT) frequently elevates in chronic hepatitis B patients stopping nucleos(t)ide analogs (NAs).
Aims: To clarify the association between ALT elevation and HBsAg seroclearance after NA withdrawal.
Methods: This multicenter cohort study reviewed consecutive patients discontinuing NA between 2004/04/01 and 2022/05/24.
