Introduction: Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is a biliary disorder associated with a high risk of end-stage liver disease and cholangiocarcinoma (CCA). Currently prediction of the unfavorable outcomes is hindered by the lack of valuable prognostic biomarkers.
Objectives: The aim of the study was to assess the prevalence of the autoantibodies in PSC and define their potential use as the predictors of progressive disease and CCA in a large, prospective cohort of PSC patients.

The molecular HLA epitope mismatch is an advanced measure for developing donor-specific antibodies (dnDSA) after kidney transplantation. Its relevance in simultaneous pancreas/kidney transplant recipients (SPKTRs) remains unclear. We investigated dnDSA development in 72 SPKTRs and 383 kidney transplant recipients (KTRs) and used the Predicted Indirectly Recognizable HLA-Epitopes (PIRCHE-II) algorithm to calculate the mismatch load of HLA-derived epitopes in total, per HLA-class, and per HLA-locus.

Unlabelled: Meniscal extrusion (ME), defined as the radial displacement of the meniscal body outside the margins of the tibial plateau, has been seen as an independent and relevant predictor of intra-articular knee degeneration. Nonetheless, available classifications for ME are exclusively quantitative assessments not considering the context in which extrusion is identified. Indeed, ME can be the result of several different conditions spanning from acute tears to chronic degeneration and its definition cannot be only dependent on the numeric calculation of the radial displacement of the meniscal body.

Sepsis-induced thrombocytopenia (SIT) is a widely accepted predictor of poor prognosis during sepsis, while the mechanism of SIT remains elusive. In this study, we revealed that SIT patients and septic mice exhibited higher levels of pro-inflammatory macrophages and phosphorylated BTK (p-BTK) expression in macrophages, which were closely correlated with platelet counts. Treatment with the BTK inhibitor, BGB-3111 in SIT mice resulted in enhanced production of megakaryocytes and platelets.
