Ethers are high value organic compounds widely applied in chemical industry, natural products, material, pharmaceuticals, argochemicals, as well as modern organic synthesis. Herein, we report an adaptive TFA-catalyzed cross-coupling of alcohols with various oxygen nucleophiles (nitro-, halogen-, sulfur-, nitrogen-, aryl-, and alkynyl-substituted aliphatic alcohols), delivering diverse unsymmetrical ethers under mild conditions and simple operation. This protocol features a broad range of substrate scope and high catalytic efficiency (54 examples, up to 99% yield).

Chiral recognition plays a critical role in drug efficacy within biological systems. CIAC001, a cannabidiol (CBD) derivative that targets pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2), has shown strong anti-neuroinflammatory and anti-morphine addiction effects. However, the chiral recognition of CIAC001, which contains multiple chiral centers, remains poorly understood.

Aims: To explore all medication administration errors (MAEs) throughout the entire process of medication administration by nurses in the inpatient setting, to describe their prevalence, and to analyse associated factors, including deviation from the good practice standards.
Background: Worldwide, MAEs are very common and regarded as a serious risk factor to inpatient safety. Nurses assume an essential role in the hospital setting during the administration of medications.
Background: Wider availability of cannabis through medical and recreational legalization (MCL alone and RCL+MCL) has been hypothesized to contribute to reductions in opioid use, misuse, and related harms. We examined whether state adoption of cannabis laws was associated with changes in opioid outcomes overall and stratified by cannabis use.
Methods: Using National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) data from 2015 to 2019, we estimated cannabis law associations with opioid (prescription opioid misuse and/or heroin use) misuse and use disorder.

A new series of 13 ritonavir-like inhibitors of human drug-metabolizing CYP3A4 was rationally designed to study the R side-group and R end-group interplay when the R side-group is represented by phenyl. Spectral, functional, and structural characterization showed no improvement in the binding affinity and inhibitory potency of R/R-phenyl inhibitors upon elongation and/or fluorination of R-Boc (tert-butyloxycarbonyl) or its replacement with benzenesulfonyl. When R is pyridine, the impact of R-phenyl-to-indole/naphthalene substitution was multidirectional and highly dependent on side-group stereo configuration.
