The effect of H-EACA-L-Cys(S-Bzl)-OH, H-EACA-L-Leu-OH, H-EACA-L-Nle-OH and EACA on the viability of MCF-7 and fibroblast cells was examined. The antibacterial activity of these compounds was also tested. H-EACA-L-Leu-OH and H-EACA-L-Nle-OH showed cytotoxic activity against MCF-7 and fibroblast cell lines, particularly in the highest studied 20 mM concentration. None of the examined dipeptides showed antibacterial activity.

This study evaluated the antioxidant and antiproliferative effects of aqueous, ethanolic and methanolic extracts of Sedum nicaeense flowers and leaves. The MTT assay assessed cytotoxicity against colorectal cancer cells (Caco-2, HCT-116), breast cancer cells (T47D, MCF-7) and normal fibroblasts (MRC-5), while the ferric-reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assay measured antioxidant capacity. Essential oils from flowers and leaves were analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).

Due to their ultra-small size (typically < 10 nm) and fluorescent nature, CQDs hold significant potential as nanoparticles for bioimaging and tracking intracellular processes. The study examined the optimization parameters for conjugating calf thymus DNA (Ct-DNA) to CQDs to facilitate Ct-DNA internalization in mouse fibroblast cells (L929) and human breast cancer cells (MCF-7).
