The cases of 2 children with true aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhages (SAHs) and initial false-negative angiograms are reported. In both cases, the initial angiogram was of adequate technical quality and included the projections on which aneurysms were later documented. There was no significant vasospasm at the time of initial angiography; therefore, transient aneurysm sac thrombosis was the most likely explanation for the initial false-negative studies. It is particularly interesting to note that 1 of the 2 patients had a pattern of hemorrhage compatible with the most limited definition of a perimesencephalic SAH, that is, a small prepontine cistern hemorrhage. If a second angiogram had been deemed unnecessary based on that criterion alone, a ruptured basilar tip aneurysm would have escaped detection and treatment.

Background: Skin cancer is the most common cancer worldwide, with melanoma being the deadliest type, though it accounts for less than 5% of cases. Traditional skin cancer detection methods are effective but are often costly and time-consuming. Recent advances in artificial intelligence have improved skin cancer diagnosis by helping dermatologists identify suspicious lesions.

Alloimmunization during pregnancy occurs when a mother produces antibodies against fetal antigens, leading to complications like hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (HDFN) and fetal and neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia (FNAIT). HDFN involves destruction of fetal red blood cells, potentially causing severe anemia, hydrops fetalis, and fetal death. FNAIT affects fetal platelets and possibly endothelial cells, resulting in risk of intracranial hemorrhage and brain damage.

One of the most prevalent congenital defects in boys is undescended testes. Ultrasound is commonly employed to locate the testis in cases of impalpable testes, which frequently yields false-negative results. Laparoscopy has gained widespread acceptance recently for managing impalpable testes.

Purpose: To assess the contribution of intense neck ultrasonography (US) follow-up in the clinical management of differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) patients with the American Thyroid Association (ATA) low-intermediate-risk of recurrence and an excellent response after total thyroidectomy and radioiodine therapy.
Materials And Methods: Medical records of patients who underwent serial follow-up neck US examinations between 1996 and 2022 were analyzed retrospectively. The utility of serial US examinations in detecting structural recurrence was assessed in all patients and different subgroups-categorized per the initial risk of recurrence and stimulated thyroglobulin (sTg) level at 1-year response assessment.

Background: Sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) using radioisotope tracer plus blue dye is the gold standard after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in initially cN1 breast cancer patients, but clinical use still has limitations. This study aims to examine diagnostic performance of dual indocyanine green (ICG) and methylene blue tracing for SLNB in patients who have completed NAC for breast cancer with initially cN1 disease.
Methods: Adult women (20-80 years of age) scheduled to undergo NAC for biopsy-proven cT0-3N1M0 primary invasive breast cancer were consecutively enrolled in this prospective, multicenter, cohort study.
