We study the sensitivity and resolution of phase measurement in a Mach-Zehnder interferometer with two-mode squeezed vacuum (n photons on average). We show that superresolution and sub-Heisenberg sensitivity is obtained with parity detection. In particular, in our setup, dependence of the signal on the phase evolves n times faster than in traditional schemes, and uncertainty in the phase estimation is better than 1/n, and we saturate the quantum Cramer-Rao bound.

We propose and experimentally demonstrate a novel protocol for transferring quantum states between superconducting cavities. This approach utilizes continuous two-mode squeezing interactions to generate entanglement without the exchange of any carrier photons. In contrast to the discrete operations of entanglement and Bell-state measurement in quantum teleportation, our scheme is symmetric and continuous.

Squeezing light in an optomechanical system involves reducing quantum noise in one of the light's quadratures through the interaction between optical and mechanical modes. However, achieving successful implementation requires careful control of experimental parameters, which can be challenging. Here, we investigate a two-mode squeezed light transfer from optical to mechanical modes induced by a non-degenerate optical parametric amplifier (OPA).

In covert target detection, Alice attempts to send optical or microwave probes to determine the presence or absence of a weakly reflecting target embedded in thermal background radiation within a target region, while striving to remain undetected by an adversary, Willie, who is co-located with the target and collects all light that does not return to Alice. We formulate this problem in a realistic setting and derive quantum-mechanical limits on Alice's error probability performance in entanglement-assisted target detection for any fixed level of her detectability by Willie. We demonstrate how Alice can approach this performance limit using two-mode squeezed vacuum probes in the regime of small to moderate background brightness, and how such protocols can outperform any conventional approach using Gaussian-distributed coherent states.

Theare mimicked in a potential hybrid quantum system, involving two ensembles of solid-state spins coupled to a pair of interconnected surface-acoustic-wave cavities. With the assistance of dichromatic classical optical drives featuring chiral designs, it can simulate two-mode LMG-type long-range spin-spin interactions with left-right asymmetry. For applications, this unconventional LMG model can not only engineer both ensembles of collective spins into two-mode spin-squeezed states but also simulate novel quantum critical phenomena and time crystal behaviors, among others.

Conventional heterodyne readout schemes are now under reconsideration due to the realization of techniques to evade its inherent 3 dB signal-to-noise penalty. The application of high-frequency, quadrature-entangled, two-mode squeezed states can further improve the readout sensitivity of audio-band signals. In this Letter, we experimentally demonstrate quantum-enhanced heterodyne readout of two spatially distinct interferometers with direct optical signal combination, circumventing the 3 dB heterodyne signal-to-noise penalty.
