Adipocytic tumors are mesenchymal tumors that are commonly reported in psittacine birds; however, large-scale studies evaluating their prevalence and associated risk factors are lacking. A retrospective study of adipocytic tumors in psittacine birds was performed by reviewing pathology submissions from the University of California, Davis-Drury Reavill Pathology Database, containing 26 013 submissions from psittacine birds (1998-2018). Age, sex, genus, anatomic distribution, and pathological diagnosis were collected for each case when available.

Background: As hepatic myelolipoma is rarely encountered, its radiological diagnosis using ultrasonography (US), computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is challenging. Hepatic myelolipoma is similar to fat-contained hepatic lesions seen in hepatocellular carcinoma and angiomyolipoma. Therefore, further development of techniques to diagnose hepatic myelolipoma is warranted.

Background/aim: Recently, an increase in the number of asymptomatic rare benign liver tumors (BLTs) has been reported during health check-ups. It is difficult to determine the nature of partial rare BLTs and not easy to distinguish from malignant liver tumors. This study aimed to analysis clinical features, diagnosis and treatment of rare BLTs to reduce misdiagnosis and provide reference for clinical practice.

Objective: (1) To report an unusual etiology for nontraumatic hemoabdomen in cats, and (2) to describe onset and recovery from severe, unexpected pancytopenia seen after surgical removal of a large intra-abdominal myelolipoma.
Case Summary: A 14-year-old neutered male domestic shorthair cat was presented for emergent treatment of suspected nontraumatic hemoabdomen. A hyperechoic mass, with ultrasonographic echogenicity similar to fat, was found in the right cranial abdomen and believed to be associated with the mesentery.
