The peak parking method was used to determine the obstruction factor of lauryl acrylate porous polymer monoliths. Polymers were prepared in situ in fused-silica capillaries using thermally initiated polymerization. These columns have been used for CEC of neutral analytes. Thiourea, which is unretained, was used as the test analyte for the obstruction factor measurement. The obstruction factor was determined to be 0.72 with a SD of (+/-0.01), which is consistent with the concept that organic porous polymer monoliths are more permeable than traditional LC stationary phases.

Neonates with congenital heart disease (CHD) who undergo cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) are at high-risk for unfavorable neurodevelopmental (ND) outcomes and are recommended for ND evaluation (NDE); however, poor rates have been reported. We aimed to identify risk factors associated with lack of NDE. This single-center retrospective observational study included neonates < 30 days old who underwent CPB and survived to discharge between 2012 and 2018.

China has implemented the "tiered medical services" policy since 2015, while there is a paucity of data evaluating the the current status of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) management under the system. Characteristics and treatments from 11,905 COPD patients in 88 hospitals across different tiers in China were included and analyzed. We assessed the statistical significance of differences by one way analysis of variance (ANOVA) for continuous variables and with the chi-squared test for categorical variables.

Objective: Severe gastrointestinal lesions are associated with a poor prognosis in eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA). The goal of this study was to develop an effective predictive model for gastrointestinal lesions and to examine clinical patterns, associated factors, treatment, and outcomes of gastrointestinal lesions in EGPA.
Methods: We retrospectively enrolled 165 EGPA patients.

Objectives: To explore the factors related to the progression of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Methods: 80 COPD patients treated between January 2020 and December 2022. The patients' pulmonary functions at their first hospital admission were categorized into four groups: Grade I, Grade II, Grade III and Grade IV.

Objective: Secondary sclerosing cholangitis (SSC) represents a disease with a poor prognosis increasingly diagnosed in clinical settings. Notably, SSC in critically ill patients (SSC-CIP) is the most frequent cause. Variables associated with worse prognosis remain unclear.
