In this study, a novel adsorbent called Ca@SP was developed by immobilizing microalgae protein (Spirulina platensis, SP) in an alginate matrix for enhanced Pb²⁺ removal from aqueous solutions. Synthesized via in situ crosslinking, Ca@SP leverages the synergistic effects of alginate's gel-forming ability and SP's N-rich biomass. Characterization of Ca@SP revealed a green spherical hydrogel with a BET specific surface area of 159.

Mimosine, a non-essential amino acid derived from plants, has a strong affinity for binding divalent and trivalent metal cations, including Zn, Ni, Fe, and Al. This ability endows mimosine with significant antimicrobial and anti-cancer properties, making it a promising candidate for therapeutic applications. Previous research has demonstrated the effectiveness of mimosine-containing peptides as metal chelators, offering a safer alternative to conventional chelation agents.

Naked siRNAs are sensitive to enzymatic degradation, phagocytic entrapment, quick renal excretion, membrane impermeability, endosomal escape, and off-target effects. Designing a safe and efficient nanocarrier for siRNA delivery to the target site without toxicity remains a significant hurdle in gene therapy. CA is a unique derivative of hydroxyapatite and a highly pH-sensitive nanocarrier with strong particle aggregation and a high polydispersity index.

Objective: To explore the possible mechanism of absorption of iron oxide nanoparticles into the human body through the gastrointestinal tract.
Methods: This article used Caco-2 monolayer cells as a cell model, prepared characterized iron oxide nanoparticles(Fe_2O_3 NPs) as suspensions, and intervened in Caco-2 cells. CCK-8 method, transwell method, and atomic spectrophotometer method were used to explore the effect of Fe_2O_3 NPs on the activity of Caco-2 cells and the absorption and transport of them through the Caco-2 monolayer cell model.

Two platinide plumbides, EuPtPb and SrPtPb, were discovered using high-temperature exploratory synthesis and flux-assisted crystal growth. Their crystal structures were determined from single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Both compounds crystallize in the orthorhombic system; EuPtPb belongs to the YRhSn structure type (2, = 4.
