Objective: To assess the correlation of O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) to radiation sensitivity of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC).
Methods: Eighty randomly selected NPC patients were divided into high (+/++, n=62) and low (-/+/+, n=18) MGMT groups according to the results of MGMT detection using immunohistochemistry. All the patients received irradiation with external beam radiotherapy, and the radiation sensitivity of NPC was analyzed after the irradiation.
Results: The rates of high and low radiation sensitivity were 83.3% and 16.7% in low MGMT group, respectively, showing significant differences from those of the high MGMT group (45.2% and 54.8%, respectively, chi(2)=4.393, P=0.036).
Conclusion: The content of MGMT correlates to the radiation sensitivity of NPC and may serve as valuable indicators for predicting the radiation sensitivity of NPC.

Objectives: To evaluate the performance of different multi-modality fusion models for predicting radiation-induced oral mucositis (RIOM) following radiotherapy in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC).
Methods: We retrospectively collected the data from 198 patients with locally advanced NPC who experienced RIOM following radiotherapy at the Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University from September, 2022 to February, 2023. Based on oral radiation dose-volume parameters and clinical features of NPC, basic classification models were developed using different combinations of feature selection algorithms and classifiers and integrated using a multi-criterion decision-making (MCDM)-based classifier fusion (MCF) strategy and its variant, the H-MCF model.

The introduction of new radiation technologies in modern radiotherapy of cancer patients is still in some cases associated with the risk of developing early and distant complications in healthy tissues surrounding the tumour. The causes of their occurrence, pathogenesis and radiobiological characteristics are reviewed and briefly described. The rate of the manifestation of complications depends on the radiosensitivity of tissues and is determined by the amount of absorbed dose of ionizing radiation.

Objectives: The objective of this study was to evaluate the predictive value of F-fluorodeoxyglucose [F]FDG positron emission tomography (PET-CT) radiomic parameters in relation to KRAS/BRAF/EGFR mutations in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC).
Methods: Blood samples were collected from 90 mCRC patients to assess KRAS G13V, BRAF V600E, and EGFR exon 20 mutations. [F]FDG PET-CT scans were performed, and radiomic parameters, including the SUV max, max TBR, total MTV, and total TLG, were calculated and correlated with different genotypes and haplotypes of the aforementioned mutations.
