Purpose: To compare the efficac and safety of a dual-blade 20,000 cuts per minute (cpm) vitrectomy probe with a single-blade 10,000 cpm probe for primary rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD).
Study Design: Prospective, randomized controlled clinical trial.
Methods: Evaluations were conducted preoperatively, intraoperatively, and at three months postoperatively.

A woman in her 50s presented with redness, eye pain, watering and photophobia of the left eye starting 1 week after she tested positive for COVID-19. She was diagnosed with left eye episcleritis and started on topical steroids. As the steroids were being gradually tapered, she developed a recurrence.

Purpose: To compare the surgical outcomes of visco-circumferential-suture-trabeculotomy (VCST) and rigid probe segmental viscotrabeculotomy (VT) in primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG).
Study Design: A prospective randomized controlled study.
Patients And Methods: Patients presenting with POAG and operated upon in Mansoura Ophthalmic Center in Mansoura, Egypt between February 2017 and September 2021 were enrolled.

This report describes the longest case of a retained metallic intraorbital foreign body with no complications and development of delayed sensory exotropia following traumatic sclopetaria in childhood. A 9-year-old girl suffered a BB gun injury to the left eye, leading to chorioretinitis sclopetaria and loss of vision. The visual acuity was 20/800 with a relative afferent pupillary defect and choroidal rupture with subretinal hemorrhage that evolved to sclopetaria over time.

Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) encompasses inherited retinal dystrophies, appearing either as an isolated eye condition or as part of a broader systemic syndrome, known as syndromic RP. In these cases, RP includes systemic symptoms impacting other organs, complicating diagnosis and management. This review highlights key systemic syndromes linked with RP, such as Usher, Bardet-Biedl, and Alström syndromes, focusing on genetic mutations, inheritance, and clinical symptoms.
