Room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) are interesting due to their myriad uses in fields such as catalysis and electrochemistry. Their properties are intimately related to their structures, yet structural understanding is difficult to achieve. This work presents a derivation of an approximate expression for the radial distribution function, ().

: We developed delafloxacin (Dela)-loaded PLGA nanoparticles (PNPs) for potential ocular application a topical route to treat eye infections caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. : Dela-PNPs were formulated using the emulsification-solvent evaporation method and stabilized using poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA). Size and morphology were characterized by using dynamic light scattering (DLS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

The geochemical and chemical constituents of river water quality could be influenced by human activities and organic processes like water interacting with the lithogenic structure that the river flows through. Evaluating evidence based primary root of the predominant pollutant ions, their interactions as well as the factors controlling their dominance is crucial in studies regarding water environment and hydrology especially as most studies focus on theoretical methods. In order to understand the water cycle, safeguard surface water resources, and preserve the human environment, this study evaluated surface water hydro-chemical facies, quality dynamics, and portability in southern Nigeria using multivariate statistical approaches by analyzing selected hydro-chemical characteristics as indicators of pollution along the river during wet and dry seasons.

Recently, 4-(pyrrol-1-yl)pyridine has been found to act as a supramolecular chemodosimeter, sensing nitrite ions in an aqueous solution with naked eye detection and a low limit of detection of 0.330 ppm. This work explores the anion-sensing properties of related derivatives, 4-(2,5-dimethyl-pyrrol-1-yl)pyridine and 4-(2,4-dimethyl-pyrrol-1-yl)pyridine, and provides a comparison with the parent compound.

As a noninvasive and label-free optical technique, Raman spectroscopy offers significant advantages in studying the structure and properties of biomacromolecules, as well as real-time changes in cellular molecular structure. However, its practical applications are hindered by weak scattering responses, low signal intensity, and poor spectral uniformity, which affect the subsequent accuracy of spectral analysis. To address these issues, we report a novel surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrate based on a pyramidal pitted silicon (PPSi) array structure adhered with Au-shell Ag-core nanospheres (Au@Ag NSs).
