Monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) are an important class of nutrients and are involved in lipid metabolism. The positions of the C=C bond and cis-trans isomerism have a significant influence on their physiological activity. However, simultaneously detecting these two structural properties has been challenging due to multiple isomers of MUFA.

The EBIS achieves a temporal resolution of ∼10s (∼ 100,000 frames/s), while the CIS provides diffraction-limited spatial resolution. A diffractive optical element encodes spectral information into a diffractogram, which is recorded by the CIS.

Sleep deprivation has been associated with impaired thermoregulatory function. However, whether these impairments translate to changes in whole-body heat exchange during exercise-heat stress remains unknown. Therefore, following either a night of normal sleep or 24 h of sleep deprivation, 10 young men (mean (SD): 23 (3) years) completed three 30-min bouts of semi-recumbent cycling at increasing fixed rates of metabolic heat production (150, 200, 250 W/m), each separated by a 15-min rest in dry heat (40 °C, ~ 13% relative humidity).

The photoinduced reaction of [Pt(NO)] with pyridine or its derivatives (L) was found to result in the formation of [PtL](NO) salts in high yield. This transformation was successfully probed for methyl- and carboxyethyl-substituted pyridines, and the corresponding [PtL](NO) salts were isolated and fully characterized using single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD). Anation of the [Pt(py)] cationic complex with N was studied by H NMR spectroscopy in aqueous and water/dimethyl sulfoxide solutions of [Pt(py)](NO).

X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) is a powerful method for exploring molecular electronic structure by exciting core electrons into higher unoccupied molecular orbitals. In this study, we present the first integration of the spin-unrestricted similarity-transformed equation-of-motion coupled cluster method (CVS-USTEOM-CCSD) for core-excited and core-ionized states into the ORCA quantum chemistry package. Using the core-valence separation (CVS) approach, we evaluate the accuracy of CVS-USTEOM-CCSD across 13 open-shell organic systems, covering over 20 core excitations with diverse spin multiplicities (doublet, triplet, and quartet).
