Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infects cells by attaching to heparan sulfate proteoglycans (HSPG) and Na/taurocholate cotransporting polypeptide (NTCP). The endothelial lipase LIPG bridges HSPG and HBV, facilitating HBV attachment. From a randomized peptide expression library, we identified a short sequence binding to LIPG.

Background: Ultrasound lung surface motion measurement is valuable for the evaluation of a variety of diseases. Speckle tracking or Doppler-based techniques are limited by the loss of visualization as a tracked point moves under ribs or is dependent.
Methods: We developed a synthetic lateral phase-based algorithm for tracking lung motion to overcome these limitations.

Rhabdomyolysis or Crush syndrome-related AKI (RM/CS-AKI) has high mortality, and there is no effective early on-site treatment method. The critical pathogenic factor of RM/CS-AKI is the excessive free myoglobin (Mb) in blood circulation. Here, based on the concept of creating a "mobile barrier", we develop an anti-Mb rabbit monoclonal antibody (RabMAb) with high specificity, affinity, stability, and broad species reactivity.

In preclinical studies, bioactive phytochemicals have shown enormous potential therapeutic efficacy against various human malignancies. These natural compounds have been shown to possess an inherent potential to alter the molecular signaling pathways and epigenetic modulatory activity involved in multiple physiological functions. Recently, epigenetic therapy has emerged as an important therapeutic modality due to the reversible nature of epigenetic alterations.
