Background: A 12-month cluster randomized controlled trial (RCT) demonstrated the effectiveness of an application-based education program in reducing the salt intake and systolic blood pressure (SBP) of schoolchildren's adult family members. This study aimed to assess whether the effect at 12 months persisted at 24 months.

Methods: Fifty-four schools were randomly assigned to either the intervention or control group.

Endogenous sex hormone levels are associated with the revised Framingham Stroke Risk Profile in postmenopausal women: a longitudinal study in a Swedish cohort.

BMC Endocr Disord

January 2025

Family medicine, School of Public Health and Community Medicine, Institute of Medicine, Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, Box 454, Göteborg, 40530, Sweden.

Background: Endogenous sex hormones in postmenopausal women have been associated with risk of cardiovascular diseases. The aim of this study was to determine the association between endogenous sex hormones and the revised Framingham Stroke Risk Profile (rFSRP) in postmenopausal women.

Methods: This is an observational cross-sectional study on the Vara-Skövde cohort, a Swedish population-based study for longitudinal surveillance of the development and progress of type 2 diabetes and hypertension.

This study aimed to investigate the interactions between the Dietary approaches to stop hypertension (DASH) and the rs1501299 and rs6450176 SNPs in terms of cardiometabolic risk factors. This cross-sectional study was conducted on 387 adults (20-70 years old) residing in Yazd, Iran. The participants were selected from participants in the recruitment phase of the Yazd Health Study (YaHS) which is a population-based cohort of 9,962 adults.

Background: Studies regarding hypercoagulation in Non-Arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy (NAION) patients have produced conflicting results. With a presumption that the early coagulation phase may affect the occurrence of NAION, this study aims to investigate the early coagulation markers, E-selectin and P-selectin, to determine whether these biomolecular changes play a significant role in NAION, thus potentially leading to a better clinical approach.

Methods: A cross-sectional study involving two groups of NAION subjects, a hypercoagulation group and a non-hypercoagulation group, was conducted in the Neuro-Ophthalmology Division, Department of Ophthalmology, FKUI-RSCM Kirana from October 2020 to April 2022.

Time-space network hypertension is a data science approach that connects diverse information related to hypertension within a time-space framework. This field of academic research aims to predict disease onset and direct effective, individualized, optimized treatments by integrating and analyzing the variability of multiple internal biological and external environmental signals as they relate to blood pressure variability across different time phases. By linking time series changes in blood pressure and biological distribution with multi-environmental and physiological information, enabled by advances in digital technology, the time-space network hypertension approach contributes to "digital hypertension" research.
