Introduction: In both highly industrialised and developing countries, obesity is reaching epidemic proportions and increasingly becoming a critical indicator of general morbidity, cardiovascular disease (CVD) and renal dysfunction. A promising trend in detection and management of obesity is the measurement of perirenal adipose tissue (PRAT), increasingly recognised as a metabolically active endocrine organ in itself. Its measurement by ultrasound is used increasingly to indicate visceral obesity and its clinical management.

Federal minimum standards for collecting and reporting race and ethnicity data implicitly categorize diverse individuals into broad, monolithic categories. Despite advancements in policy and practice and calls for inclusive research, data equity remains a significant issue in aging-related health research. Racially and ethnically diverse older adults are underrepresented in health research and rarely disaggregated by ethnicity in data collection, analysis, and reporting of aging-related health outcomes.

The prevalence of diseases accompanied by calcium metabolism disorders varies from low to moderate. For example, primary hyperparathyroidism, as one of the most common causes of pathological changes in calcium metabolism due to parathyroid hormone hypersecretion, occurs with a frequency of 85 to 233 cases per 100 thousand people.

Ensuring consistent methodological practices for salivary cortisol is essential. This systematic review critically examines salivary cortisol collection procedures, data cleaning, and analysis to better understand its role in biobehavioral research within community populations.
