Generation of azomethine imine and its scope in regioselective 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition (DC) of imine with PhIO toward highly substituted Delta(2)-1,2,4-triazoline, 1,2,4-triazole, and their fused, chiral, and sugar-based analogues are demonstrated.

The asymmetric Schiff base prepared from ethylenediamine and pyridine-2-carboxaldehyde reacts with Fe(ClO)·6HO to form the Fe(II) complex [FeL](ClO) with L = ,-diethyl-'-(pyridin-2-yl)methylene)ethane-1,2-diamine, where the Fe(III) starting material has been unexpectedly reduced to Fe(II). This complex was characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectra, single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction measurements, variable temperature DC magnetic measurement and room temperature Mössbauer spectroscopy. The asymmetric ligand L coordinates in a tridentate fashion through its pyridyl, azomethine and amino nitrogen atoms, generating a distorted octahedral geometry around the central metal ion.

A synthetic strategy of a three-component spiro-pyrrolidine compound based on benzofuran via an [3+2] azomethine ylide cycloaddition reaction is reported herein. Under mild optimal conditions, this reaction can quickly produce potentially bioactive compounds with a wide range of substrates, high yield, and simple operation. The desired products were obtained with a yield of 74-99% and a diastereomeric ratio (dr) of >20:1.

Background: In the last few decades, the field of coordination chemistry has grown very fast, especially in the fields of pharmaceutical, biological and catalytic studies. In ancient times, metals were thought to be beneficial to health issues but nowadays the link between organic-metal substances and different industrial and medicinal properties is well established.

Methods: A Schiff base ligand (2-fluoro-N'-[(E)-2-hydroxyphenyl) methylene] benzohydrazide) was reacted with a series of transition metals to produce complexes with a general formula [ML(NO)]NO.

A series of sulfonamido-substituted oxime-ethers have been synthesized by the reaction of donor-acceptor aziridines with aldo- and keto-oximes through C-C bond cleavage. Nucleophilic attack by an oxime hydroxyl group on the -generated azomethine ylide rather than the routine cycloaddition reaction draws the novelty of the developed methodology. Selective protection of the oxime hydroxyl group is observed in the presence of phenolic -OH, which made the protocol enriched.

Hybridization of spirooxindole with different pharmacophores such as triazole and heterocycle such as thiophene and furan moiety was achieved by the [3 + 2] cycloaddition (32CA) reaction approach. Structural investigations of the compounds 4a and 4b were performed using X-ray single crystal structure determinations and Hirshfeld analysis. Both compounds crystallized in monoclinic crystal system.
