Purpose Of Review: Although patient safety is a core component of education in anesthesiology, approaches to implementation of education programs are less well defined. The goal of this review is to describe the current state of education in anesthesia patient safety and the ideal patient safety curriculum.

Recent Findings: Anesthesiology has been a pioneer in patient safety for decades, with efforts amongst national organizations, such as the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation to disseminate key standards and guidelines in patient safety.

Advances in technology make it possible to supplement in-person teaching activities with digital learning, use electronic records in patient care, and communicate through social media. This relatively new "digital learning environment" has changed how medical trainees learn, participate in patient care, are assessed, and provide feedback. Communication has changed with the use of digital health records, the evolution of interdisciplinary and interprofessional communication, and the emergence of social media.

Purpose: For adequate rehabilitative care, it is indispensable to impart appropriate competences in medical education based on learning objectives. In addition to the "National Competence-Based Learning Objectives Catalogue for Medicine (NKLM)", a competence-based learning objectives catalogue for the field of rehabilitation in the interdisciplinary subject "Rehabilitation, Physical Medicine, Naturopathy" (RPMN) was recently presented. These learning objectives were to be assigned to a wide variety of teaching materials of different media types and made easily accessible to university lecturers in a free online database.
