1. Directions for future research into dietary and other lifestyle factors which influence blood pressure can only be signposted at this stage. It is suggested that eight parallel and interrelated paths merit attention. 2. The following questions might be addressed. Which techniques measure lower blood pressure most effectively? How do different environmental factors interact with one another and what is their influence on physiological control mechanisms? How do genetic and environmental influences interrelate? How can behavioural change be more readily achieved? What role if any do stress and personality play in hypertension? What are the relative costs and benefits of drug and non-drug measures in the management of hypertension? Finally what are the most effective ways of reducing the cardiovascular morbidity and mortality associated with hypertension?

The prevalence of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), which is increasingly being recognized as a leading cause of chronic liver pathology globally, is increasing. The pathophysiological underpinnings of its progression, which is currently under active investigation, involve oxidative stress. Human adipose tissue, an integral endocrine organ, secretes an array of adipokines that are modulated by dietary patterns and lifestyle choices.

The composition of the gut microbiome is determined by a complex interplay of diet, host genetics, microbe-microbe interactions, abiotic factors, and stochasticity. Previous studies have demonstrated the importance of host genetics in community assembly of the gut microbiome and identified a central role for DBL-1/BMP immune signaling in determining the abundance of gut . However, the effects of DBL-1 signaling on gut bacteria were found to depend on its activation in extra-intestinal tissues, highlighting a gap in our understanding of the proximal factors that determine microbiome composition.

Background: Male breast cancer (MBC) is rare and often treated using evidence from female breast cancer (BC) trials due to limited male participation. Previous estimates lacked global coverage and completeness. We aimed to quantify the global MBC burden from 1990 to 2021 and evaluate its current status and trends.

This article comments on the work by Soresi and Giannitrapani. The authors have stated that one of the most novel and promising treatments for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is the use of glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists, especially when used in combination therapy. However, despite their notable efficacy, these drugs were not initially designed to target MASLD directly.

Background: Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are a group of disorders of the heart and blood vessels. Yoga is a low-cost, easily accessible lifestyle modification program that holds as an approach to decreasing cardiometabolic risk factors and increasing exercise self-efficacy among high-risk subjects. This study aimed to assess the impact of the yogic lifestyle (including diet) on cardiovascular risk scores by using the Framingham (FRS), QRISK3 score, and World Health Organization (WHO) CVD risk prediction charts at baseline, three months, and six months.
