As part of the Evaluation of Professional Practices (EPP) framework, a study has been conducted in a local hospital in western France on the prescription of urine cultures and treatment of urinary tract infections, A clinical audit was carried out in 2007 followed up by corrective measures. The actions and measures implemented as a result consisted in establishing and implementing a protocol "UTI" for managing urinary tract infections, creating a tool to assist clinicians in the diagnosis and prescription process, and raising awareness of health care professionals through quiz. The results of this work were reevaluated one year later. The reassessment highlighted improvements in prescribing practices of ECBU and subsequent associated treatments. The EPP has helped to convene and unite the participating professionals as a group, working together on a common project involving medical and paramedical staff to improve practices and quality of care.

Background And Objective: Intravesical instillation of chemotherapy (IIC) after radical surgery for upper urinary tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) reduces the risk of intravesical recurrence (IVR). However, compliance is low because of possible extravesical leakage after bladder cuff excision. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of preoperative IIC in reducing the risk of IVR.

Electronic address:

Acellular cellulose-based biomaterials hold promising potential for treating bladder injuries. However, the compromised cellular state surrounding the wound impedes the complete reconstruction of the bladder. This necessitates the development of a bio-instructive cellulose-based biomaterial that actively controls cell behavior to facilitate effective bladder regeneration.
