Background: Recommended Bravo capsule placement is 6 cm proximal to the squamocolumnar junction. This is because the junction resides 1 cm distal to the lower esophageal sphincter.
Aim: To determine the positional accuracy of capsule placement compared with the ideal location in symptomatic patients.
Methods: Retrospective analysis of consecutive symptomatic outpatients undergoing both capsule placement and esophageal manometry on the same day. Error in capsule placement (ECP) was calculated as the actual capsule position (ACP) minus the ideal capsule position (ICP) based on manometry results. An error in positioning < or =3 cm was deemed an accurate placement.
Results: Accurate placement of the capsule occurred in 91/147 (62%) patients. In patients with inaccurate placement, 92.9% were placed >3 cm proximal to the ICP. Only longer esophageal length correlated with the severity of proximal misplacement. There was no relationship between severity of ECP and whether the study demonstrated acid reflux.
Conclusions: Our results suggest that endoscopic misplacement of Bravo capsules is common. Capsule misplacement proximally occurred far more frequently than distal misplacement. Capsule misplacement was not associated with pH study results.

We describe a novel technique for recurrent pterygium and assess the advantage of properties of extended tenonectomy, amniotic membrane transplantation, and limbal epithelial transplantation in terms of recurrence rate, postoperative symptoms, postoperative orthoptics, and other complications. A total of nine eyes with recurrent pterygium underwent PERMISLET, i.e.

Purpose Of The Study: improving the surgical treatment of biliary pancreatitis by using a universal retractor and improved methods of omentobursostomy with drainage of the omental bursa.
Study Design: Non-randomized controlled clinical trial Material and methods: This study included thirty-nine patients who underwent surgical procedures between October 2022 and September 2023 in Semey, located in the Abay region. The study examined the general characteristics of surgical interventions performed for acute biliary pancreatitis using our proposed treatment methods and devices to improve the outcomes of acute biliary pancreatitis.

Background: Current methods to measure intragastric pH in horses have limitations. A wireless capsule has been designed for continuous esophageal pH monitoring in humans.
Objectives: To (1) determine the feasibility and describe the methodology of measuring intragastric pH wirelessly in horses; and (2) determine attachment duration of the capsules.

The impact of breast implants on the immune system has been debated since their introduction in the 1960s, linking silicone to systemic autoimmune diseases. Recent studies have shown that silicone gel can migrate from the implant capsule, triggering immune responses by proliferating immune cells and releasing cytokines, affecting T-cell function. Silicone particles can induce the release of IL-1β and activate the NALP3 inflammasome and B cells, causing an imbalance in regulatory T cells, responder T cells, and Th17 cells.

Background: Whereas uncomplicated labral tears with preserved fibers can be effectively treated with use of labral repair techniques, complex tears and hypoplastic labra require labral reconstruction. Standard reconstruction techniques feature grafted tissue that is added to existing, deficient tissue or that is utilized to replace a hypoplastic labrum entirely. However, such approaches utilizing allografts or remote autografts are limited because they often necessitate extensive debridement of the existing labrum to prepare a site for graft implantation, an approach that can damage and devascularize the chondrolabral junction.
