Glaucoma drainage devices (GDDs) are often used in refractory cases of pediatric glaucoma. Traditionally, sutures are used during GDD implantation for securing the plate and silicone tube to the sclera, for suturing a patch graft over the silicone tube, and for conjunctival closure. The use of fibrin glue as an alternative to standard suturing techniques has been studied in adults but not in the pediatric population. The purpose of this study was to analyze the use of fibrin glue as an alternative to standard suturing techniques during certain stages of GDD implantation in the pediatric population.
