Background: In 2003 new regulations for the licensing of German physicians came into effect. The aim of this study was to survey the present status of realization in German otorhinolaryngology (ORL) university departments.
Methods: A questionnaire containing 31 items was sent to all German ORL university departments.
Results: A total of 31 (86%) ORL departments responded to the questionnaire. Most faculties reacted correctly in the practical realization of the new regulation demands. Regarding the quality of written and practical examinations, some changes have to be considered in order to maintain high quality standards.
Conclusion: The demands of the new licensing regulations have not yet been fully implemented. Therefore, medical education must gain importance in the daily clinical routine. Establishment of nationwide learning objectives and resources pooling for written examinations would be helpful.

Upregulation of Cyclin E1 and subsequent activation of CDK2 accelerates cell cycle progression from G1 to S phase and is a common oncogenic driver in gynecological malignancies. WEE1 kinase counteracts the effects of Cyclin E1/CDK2 activation by regulating multiple cell cycle checkpoints. Here we characterized the relationship between Cyclin E1/CDK2 activation and sensitivity to the selective WEE1 inhibitor azenosertib.

As India's population grows and urbanization accelerates, energy demand is increasing sharply while conventional sources fall behind. To tackle energy shortages and climate change, India must prioritize renewable energy sources (RES), which offer sustainable solutions. The country is rich in RES, which can enhance fuel mix for electricity generation.

Background: Low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) has been used as an effective noninvasive method for treating fractures and osteoarthrosis, but the application in the field of oral implantation is in its infancy. This study aimed to clarify the effect and mechanism of LIPUS on the osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) and implant osseointegration, and to provide an experimental basis for future clinical applications.
Methods: Dental implants were inserted into Wistar rat femurs, and LIPUS was performed for 4 weeks.

Inflammasomes are crucial mediators of both antimicrobial host defense and inflammatory pathology, requiring stringent regulation at multiple levels. This review explores the pivotal role of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling in modulating inflammasome activation through various regulatory mechanisms. We detail recent advances in understanding MAPK-mediated regulation of NLRP3 inflammasome priming, licensing and activation, with emphasis on MAPK-induced activator protein-1 (AP-1) signaling in NLRP3 priming, ERK1 and JNK in NLRP3 licensing, and TAK1 in connecting death receptor signaling to NLRP3 inflammasome activation.

Objectives: The aim of this study is to screen for, isolate and characterize a bacteriophage designated ɸEcM-vB1 with confirmed lytic activity against multidrug-resistant (MDR) E. coli. Methods done in this research are bacteriophage isolation, purification, titer determination, bacteriophage morphology, host range determination, bacteriophage latent period and burst size determination, genomic analysis by restriction enzymes, and bacteriophage total protein content determination.
