Benzosilagermacyclobutene bearing two Ar groups on the germanium atom [Ar = o-(fluorodimethylsilyl)phenyl] undergoes cleavage of the Ge-Si bond with KF in the presence of a cryptand to form Ar(3)Ge(-)[K(+)(cryptand)] with alpha,delta-ambiphilic character consisting of the germyl anion center and the fluorosilyl moieties. In the presence of LiBPh(4).3dme or BF(3).Et(2)O, the germylpotassium is converted back into the benzosilagermacyclobutene.

In this article we consider the theoretical and methodological implications of Deleuzian fabulation for research on recovery from drugs and alcohol as an alternative way of making and doing methods in sociology. The article draws on data produced as part of an ongoing interdisciplinary research collaboration, begun in 2019, with the visual artist and filmmaker Melanie Manchot, social scientists Nicole Vitellone and Lena Theodoropoulou, and people in recovery from drugs and alcohol engaged in the production of Manchot's first feature film STEPHEN. This project attends to the methodological practice of filmmaking as a way of thinking with and alongside colleagues from divergent disciplines about the role of methods, concepts and practices for confronting and resisting processes of stigmatisation.

When combined with certain metal species, films of amorphous Ge or Si can have their typical crystallization temperatures decreased, by a factor of three or four, down to ~ 200 °C. The phenomenon is called metal-induced crystallization (MIC) and, since its first observation in the late 1960's, shows a great technological potential in producing (poly-)crystalline films of Ge or Si onto low-melting point substrates under reduced energy conditions. From the scientific point of view, the microscopic mechanisms behind the MIC phenomenon (still) represents a scientific challenge, where most of the proposed models are invariably influenced by the samples details giving the impression that they only apply to very specific metal-semiconductor combinations and/or circumstances.

A case of brain injury with a transient syndrome of mainly disinhibited behaviour (Franz Binz) was the subject of the 1888 medical dissertation of Leonore Welt (∗1859 Chernivtsi, Ukraine; †1944 Geneva, Switzerland) which came to be discussed quite controversially.
