There are no reports or images of the blood supply to the lymphatic vessels. One lower limb of an unembalmed human cadaver was studied. Hydrogen peroxide (6%) was applied to find the lymphatic vessels by using a surgical microscope. The vessels were injected with a radio-opaque mixture and dissected. During the dissection, several sites of paralymphatics arteriole nutrient (PAN) vessels were found in close proximity to collecting lymphatic vessels in the medial aspect of the leg. The caliber of the lymphatic vessels was about 1 mm. The caliber of PAN vessels was <0.1 mm. The blood vessels were seen running along the lymphatic vessels. Some of them crossing the lymphatics and supplying the fatty tissue nearby and some running parallel on the lymph vessel walls. Histology sections show different-sized PAN vessels containing blood cells situated close to the lymphatic wall and within the lymphatic vessel wall. PAN vessels have been found and described. It will upgrade our anatomical knowledge and also be of benefit for medical and/or scientific research.

Angiosarcomas are a type of soft-tissue sarcoma characterized by aggressive malignant tumors originating from endothelial cells of blood vessels or lymphatic vessels. Limited studies have been done to explore the molecular pathophysiology of the disease, with rather limited studies involving transcriptomic analyzes. This study was undertaken to identify the shared molecular signatures and gene modules associated with angiosarcomas of various origin.

Background: Chylopericardium is a rare disease resulting from lymphatic system dysfunction and characterized by recurrent chylous pericardial effusion and cardiac compression. Traditional treatments like fasting, somatostatin injection and ligation of pericardial lymphatic vessels are less effective, with high recurrence rate. Fenestration is regarded as the last resort for treating chylopericardium.

The flow sensing endothelial cell lining of blood and lymphatic vessels is essential in vertebrates. While the mechanisms are still mysterious in many regards, several critical components became apparent through molecular biology studies. In this article, we focus on PIEZO1, which forms unusual force-sensing ion channels capable of rapid transduction of force into biological effect.

The Charles procedure (CP) is a potentially devastating treatment; however, in cases of an end stage of untreated or improperly treated lymphedema, it is the ultimate surgical therapy. As a life-saving solution, it quickly relieves patients with giant, hypertrophic extremities, mostly in ambulation and hygiene maintenance. Nevertheless, long-term results may disappoint both doctors and patients, who struggle with social stigma, the need for lifelong compression, massive lymphoedema in the distal parts of the feet, badly fitting shoes, excessive skin fibrosis, severe keratinization of skin-grafted surfaces, periodic lymphorrhea from the resected areas, or acute and chronic inflammation.

Fluorescence molecular imaging aims to enhance clarity in the region of interest, particularly in the near-infrared IIb window (NIR-IIb, 1500-1700 nm). To achieve this, we developed a novel small-molecule dye, named , based on classic cyanine dyes (heptamethine or pentamethine is essential for wavelengths beyond 1000 nm). By reducing excessive polymethine to a single methine and disrupting symmetry to form an asymmetric donor-π-acceptor (D-π-A) architecture, we enhanced the donor's electron-donating capability, yielding emission at 1088 nm.
