There is evidence that the application of Quint Studer's Hardwiring Excellence approach to organizational change is associated with significant accomplishments in hospitals. The authors' review finds the Studer approach to be closely aligned with management-related concepts of motivation and feedback, social networks, human capital, social capital, management by objectives, evidence based management, and organizational learning. The article is intended to familiarize more managers and management researchers with the content of the Studer approach, demonstrate its grounding in management concepts and principles, and stimulate additional discussion around the utility of such human resources-focused interventions in significant organizational change.

The SPIRIT statement, designed for trial protocol content, does not adequately cover the distinctive features of EPDF trials. This objective of this communication is to provide an update from the Council of Teaching Hospitals (COTH) and the American Association of Colleges of Podiatric Medicine (AACPM) with respect to the profession's residency interview process, otherwise known as the Centralized Residency Interview Process (CRIP). During the 2022-2023 academic year, CRIP returned to an in-person format following a period of virtual interviews during the COVID-19 pandemic. Survey data since this change indicate that a large majority of residency program directors and student applicants prefer an in-person format to the residency interview process.

Background: Research on the contextual drivers of antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) programme interventions in neonatal units is limited.
Methods: As part of a prospective mixed-methods multidisciplinary neonatal AMS (NeoAMS) interventional study in 14 South African hospitals, we applied a three-phased process to assess implementation barriers and contextual drivers experienced by participating health professionals. The study included: (Phase one; P1) a survey of pre-intervention barriers and enablers; (P2) written feedback during the study intervention phase; and (P3) semi-structured exit interviews.
