Monocular depth estimation is a central problem in computer vision and robot vision, aiming at obtaining the depth information of a scene from a single image. In some extreme environments such as dynamics or drastic lighting changes, monocular depth estimation methods based on conventional cameras often perform poorly. Event cameras are able to capture brightness changes asynchronously but are not able to acquire color and absolute brightness information.

Desert ants are known to rely heavily on vision while venturing for food and returning to the nest. During these foraging trips, ants memorize and recognize their visual surroundings, which enables them to recapitulate individually learned routes in a fast and effective manner. The compound eyes are crucial for such visual navigation; however, it remains unclear how information from both eyes are integrated and how ants cope with visual impairment.

Purpose: To evaluate the outcome of surgery based on a monocular occlusion test in patients with acquired nonaccommodative esotropia (ANAET).
Methods: Patients with ANAET in which the angle of esodeviation increased by at least 10 after 1 hour of monocular patching were enrolled prospectively.
Results: A monocular occlusion test was performed for 32 patients, of whom 14 patients showed significant change in the angle of esotropia.

Objective: To assess a population-level perceived health status of common reconstructive urologic conditions using health utilities.
Methods: Health utilities are generic quality-of-life measures that can help describe overall health status and can quantitatively compare different disease states and the perceived benefits of various interventions. An a priori determined, representative sample of adult men were recruited by Qualtrics to review standardized scenarios describing typical patients with reconstructive urologic conditions, surgeries to treat conditions, and control conditions (eg, blindness, osteoarthritis).
