The net analyte preprocessing/classical least-squares (NAP/CLS) method is a simple chemometric method that has been used for the simultaneous spectrophotometric determination of benzoic acid, sorbic acid, and ascorbic acid. The obtained results indicated that the performances of the NAP/CLS and partial least-squares methods were almost identical. The net analyte signal (NAS) concept was also used to calculate multivariate analytical figures of merit, such as LOD, selectivity, and sensitivity. Wavelength selection was applied based on the concept of NAS regression, and improved the method performance in samples containing nonmodeled interferences. The method afforded recoveries in the range of 98-105%. The proposed method was successfully applied to determination of the analytes in an Iranian soft drink.

Direct Determination of Flavanone Isomers in Citrus Juice by Paper Spray Tandem Mass Spectrometry.

Antioxidants (Basel)

A novel and efficient analytical protocol based on paper spray tandem mass spectrometry was developed for the determination of isomeric -glycoside flavanones in citrus juices and beverages. This approach significantly reduces sample preparation time and solvent consumption compared to traditional chromatographic techniques. By exploiting the unique fragmentation patterns of these compounds, accurate quantification of both diglycosides and their individual isomers (neohesperidoside and rutinose derivatives) was achieved.

Background: Notwithstanding progress in conventional medicine (CM), the management of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) continues to be problematic due to factors such as limited patient response to treatment and restricted medication access. This study aimed to evaluate the extent to which East Asian herbal medicine with CM combination therapy (EACM) provides additional benefits in effectiveness and safety.

Methods: We conducted a comprehensive search across 11 databases in English, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese for randomized controlled trials.

Background And Objectives: Although multiple sclerosis (MS) can be conceptualized as a network disorder, brain network analyses typically require advanced MRI sequences not commonly acquired in clinical practice. Using conventional MRI, we assessed cross-sectional and longitudinal structural disconnection and morphometric similarity networks in people with MS (pwMS), along with their relationship with clinical disability.

Methods: In this longitudinal monocentric study, 3T structural MRI of pwMS and healthy controls (HC) was retrospectively analyzed.

Lower back pain comprises the majority of the disease burden of patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS), while the alterations of the large-scale brain networks could be implicated in the neuropathophysiology of pain. The frontoparietal network (FPN) is known as a pain modulation hub, with key nodes dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dlPFC) and ventrolateral prefrontal cortex (vlPFC) participating in the pain modulation and reappraisal process. In this study, we adopted the analytical approaches of independent component analysis (ICA) and seed-based correlation analysis (SCA) to examine the resting-state functional connectivity (rsFC) of the large-scale brain networks, notably FPN, between 82 AS patients and 61 healthy controls (HCs).

Background: This study assessed the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of breast cancer screening across rural and urban regions in China's four economic zones.

Methods: Using a decision-analytic Markov model, we evaluated 5,280 scenarios involving different ages and screening technologies. The model followed individuals from birth through 100 yearly cycles in eight settings.
