Vocalizations play a crucial role in the social systems of many animals and may inadvertently reveal behavioural characteristics of the sender. Bats, the second largest mammalian order, rely extensively on vocalizations owing to their nocturnal lifestyle and complex social systems, making them ideal for studying links between vocalizations and consistent behavioural traits. In this study, we developed a new testing regime to investigate whether consistent individual vocalization differences in nectarivorous bats are associated with specific behavioural types.

Phage therapy is experiencing renewed interest, particularly for antibiotic-resistant infections, and may also be useful for difficult-to-treat cases where surgery to remove foreign infected material is deemed too risky. We report a case of recurrent endocarditis with Bentall infection treated successfully with a combination of antibiotics and phages.

In them, gaseous substances are included, especially ones without any colour or fragrance, due to their non-detectability with the human senses. Construction workers are often subjected to strenuous manual labor, poor working conditions, and prolonged separation from family, leading to psychological symptoms such as stress, depression, and anxiety. These psychological factors, combined with safety climate elements like risk perception and safety attitude, significantly influence workers' safety behaviors, including risk-taking, safety compliance, and safety participation. To address these issues, this study investigates the interplay between psychological symptoms, safety climate, and safety behaviors among construction workers in Mainland China.

Background: Little is known about mortality from four disorder combinations: fully attributable to alcohol or tobacco, partly attributable to both alcohol and tobacco, to tobacco only, to alcohol only.
Aim: To analyze whether residents who had disclosed risky alcohol drinking or daily tobacco smoking had a shorter time to death than non-risky drinkers and never daily smokers twenty years later according to the disorder combinations.
Methods: A random adult general population sample (4,075 study participants) of a northern German area had been interviewed in the years 1996-1997.
