Article Abstract

Purpose: To evaluate the clinical value of 3DX CT in the diagnosis and treatment of unerupted and impacted teeth.

Methods: Eighty-four unerupted and impacted teeth from 66 patients were examined with cone beam CT, and 3-dimentional image was obtained for analysis.

Results: The 3DX CT image could clearly demonstrate the location of the unerupted and impacted teeth in the bone,including the labial or palatal location ,crown, root and the relationship between the impacted teeth and adjacent important structures.

Conclusion: 3DX CT can be applied before surgical and orthodontic treatment.
