Background: Graft loss is a major health concern for kidney transplant (KTx) recipients. It is of clinical interest to develop a prognostic model for both graft function, quantified by estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), and the risk of graft failure. Additionally, the model should be dynamic in the sense that it adapts to accumulating longitudinal information, including time-varying at-risk population, predictor-outcome association, and clinical history.

Clonal plants benefit from the ability to translocate resources among interconnected ramets to colonize stress habitats. Despite the fact that the physiological integration of clones may influence their general performance and competitiveness, we still lack an understanding of how integration alters the ability of clones to compete with their neighbours. In a greenhouse experiment, we investigated how clonal integration of a perennial herbaceous Cynodon dactylon, which originated from two flooding stress ecotypes, influenced the growth, functional traits, biomass allocation and relative competitiveness of their intraspecific and interspecific neighbours.

Bivalve transmissible neoplasia (BTN) is one of three known types of naturally transmissible cancer-cancers in which the whole cancer cells move from individual to individual, spreading through natural populations. BTN is a lethal leukemia-like cancer that has been observed throughout soft-shell clam () populations on the east coast of North America, with two distinct sublineages circulating at low enzootic levels in New England, USA, and Prince Edward Island, Canada. Major cancer outbreaks likely due to BTN (MarBTN) were reported in 1980s and the 2000s and the disease has been observed since the 1970s, but it has not been observed in populations of this clam species on the US west coast.
