Introduction: This in vitro study compared the tooth color and the ultrastructure of internal dental tissues before and after internal bleaching.
Methods: Sodium perborate was placed in the pulp chamber of endodontically treated molars and sealed with intermediate restorative material. The test samples were stored in a physiologic solution, and the bleaching agent was replaced every 7 days. A control group was used. After 1 month, the colors of the test and control samples were measured with a colorimeter, and the internal surfaces were observed under field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM).
Results: Statistically significant differences were found between the test and control sample colors. The FESEM ultrastructure analysis of the internal enamel and dentin surfaces did not show any changes after the internal bleaching.
Conclusions: The results of the present study show that sodium perborate is effective in bleaching nonvital teeth and does not produce ultrastructural changes in the dental tissues.

Background: Antiseptic solutions are commonly utilized during total joint arthroplasty (TJA) to prevent and treat periprosthetic joint infection (PJI). The purpose of this study was to investigate which antiseptic solution is most effective against methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) and Escherichia coli biofilms established in vitro on orthopaedic surfaces commonly utilized in total knee arthroplasty: cobalt-chromium (CC), oxidized zirconium (OxZr), and polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA).
Methods: MSSA and E.

Self-assembly of amino acids and short-peptide derivatives attracted significant curiosity worldwide due to their unique self-assembly process and wide variety of applications. Amino acid is considered one of the important synthons in supramolecular chemistry. Self-assembly processes and applications of unfunctionalized native amino acids have been less reported in the literature.

The dataset [1] hosts pedological info and images of the lands -locally known as - of the outcropping gypsiferous core of the Barbastro-Balaguer anticline (Fig. 1). It stands out in the landscape for the linear reliefs due to outcrops of dipping strata with differential resistance to erosion, and also because of its whitish color (Fig.

Metalloporphyrins on interfaces offer a rich playground for functional materials and hence have been subjected to intense scrutiny over the past decades. As the same porphyrin macrocycle on the same surface may exhibit vastly different physicochemical properties depending on the metal center and its substituents, it is vital to have a thorough structural and chemical characterization of such systems. Here, we explore the distinctions arising from coverage and macrocycle substituents on the closely related ruthenium octaethyl porphyrin and ruthenium tetrabenzo porphyrin on Ag(111).

Purpose: Due to the extensive use of radiation in various fields, such as food safety, sterilizing surgical materials, and medical diagnostics, it is essential to minimize radiation exposure for both patients and healthcare professionals, even at low doses. To meet this requirement, a composite film has been developed using polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) polymer and nitro blue tetrazolium (NBT) dye to measure low radiation doses effectively.
Methods: Various concentrations of NBT dye (ranging from 0.
