This document describes the protocol for the provision of amplification to infants and preschool children registered with the Ontario infant hearing program (OIHP) in Canada. The provision of amplification includes the prescription and dispensing of hearing instruments to infants and preschool children identified with permanent childhood hearing impairment (PCHI) in the province of Ontario. The first section deals with the structure and processes of the program, while the second section specifies the clinical procedures that are applied in providing hearing instruments to infants and young children with hearing impairment.

Background: This study aims to detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTBC) DNA in intraocular fluid from clinically suspected tuberculous uveitis patients using multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and investigate the diagnostic utility of multiplex PCR for tuberculous uveitis.
Methods: Primers targeting three specific genes (MPB64, CYP141, and IS6110) within the MTBC genome were designed. Multiplex PCR was conducted using DNA from the H37Rv strain as well as DNA extracted from fluids of confirmed tuberculosis patients to assess primer specificity and method feasibility.

Civil structures are prone to dynamic loadings such as strong winds or ground excitations where torsion becomes an ongoing issue. This arises from a lack of coincidence of the center of mass (CM) and rigidity (CR), known as eccentricity. Seismic design codes often introduce two types of eccentricity: inherent (geometric) and accidental.

Conventional inorganic semiconductors are not suitable for acting as nanozymes or sonosensitizers for therapeutic nanomedicine owing to the lack of excellent biocompatibility. Biocompatible carbon dots (CDs) exhibit a variety of biological activities due to their adjustable size and surface chemical modification; however, the simultaneous sonodynamic activity and multiple enzyme-mimicking catalytic activity of a single CD have not been reported. Herein, we report the development of bimetallic doped CDs as a high-efficiency nanozyme and sonosensitizer for enhanced sonodynamic therapy (SDT) and nanocatalytic therapy (NCT).

Background: The genus Nitzsch, 1818 comprises small ectoparasites that feed on the blood of juvenile avians. They are characterised by dealated adults with setose abdominal intersegmental membranes. Maa, 1968 was previously recorded in Malaysia and the Ryukyu Islands of Japan, parasitising two owl species: (Horsfield, 1821) and (Cassin, 1852).

Amoebic liver abscess (ALA) is a significant public health concern in tropical countries. Traditional diagnostic methods, such as microscopy, have low sensitivity, and nested polymerase chain reaction (nPCR) has lengthy turnaround times. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA) assay for detecting Entamoeba histolytica in amoebic liver pus samples.
