In order for recently developed advanced nanowire (NW) devices(1-5) to be produced on a large scale, high integration of the separately fabricated nanoscale devices into intentionally organized systems is indispensible. We suggest a unique fabrication route for semiconductor NW electronics. This route provides a high yield and a large degree of freedom positioning the device on the substrate. Hence, we can achieve not only a uniform performance of Si NW devices with high fabrication yields, suppressing device-to-device variation, but also programmable integration of the NWs. Here, keeping pace with recent progress of direct-writing circuitry,(6-8) we show the flexibility of our approach through the individual integrating, along with the three predesigned N-shaped sites. On each predesigned site, nine bottom gate p-type Si NW field-effect transistors classified according to their on-current level are programmably integrated.

Micro/nanostructured perovskites with spatially graded compositions and bandgaps are promising in filter-free, chip-level multispectral, and hyperspectral detection. However, achieving high-resolution patterning of perovskites with controlled graded compositions is challenging. Here, a programmable mixed electrohydrodynamic printing (M-ePrinting) technique is presented to realize the one-step direct-printing of arbitrary spatially graded perovskite micro/nanopatterns for the first time.

Conventional power-integrated wireless neural recording devices suffer from bulky, rigid batteries in head-mounted configurations, hindering the precise interpretation of the subject's natural behaviors. These power sources also pose risks of material leakage and overheating. We present the direct printing of a power-integrated wireless neural recording system that seamlessly conforms to the cranium.

On-Demand, Direct Printing of Nanodiamonds at the Quantum Level.

Adv Sci (Weinh)

February 2022

Department of Mechanical Engineering, The University of Hong Kong, Pokfulam Road, Hong Kong, China.

The quantum defects in nanodiamonds, such as nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers, are emerging as a promising candidate for nanoscale sensing and imaging, and the controlled placement with respect to target locations is vital to their practical applications. Unfortunately, this prerequisite continues to suffer from coarse positioning accuracy, low throughput, and process complexity. Here, it is reported on direct, on-demand electrohydrodynamic printing of nanodiamonds containing NV centers with high precision control over quantity and position.

The importance of this study stems from, it concentrates on new approach applying both practical and theoretical aspects to study structure stability of direct orange dye 26 (DO26) as an important dye widely used for dyeing of cotton or viscose for red orange direct printing. The stable dyes are so difficult to remove, decolorized and/or degrade, in pure solution or in wastewater samples, without using powerful removal environmental techniques electrochemical oxidations suggest and efficiently used in our Lab. Therefore, it is very important to compare between practical thermal and mass results as efficient techniques in studying dye stability, in comparison with theoretical results using Gaussian program for structural stability identification of DO26 dye, via careful inspection of various phenomena detected in its two symmetrical arms around urea center.

In this study, a high-performance photoanode based on 3D periodic, micropillar-structured fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO-MP) deposited with BiVO is fabricated using the patterned FTO by direct printing and spray pyrolysis, followed by the deposition of BiVO by sputtering and V ion heat-treatment on the patterned FTO. The FTO-MP enables light scattering owing to its 3D periodic structure and increases the light absorption efficiency. In addition, the high electron mobility of FTO and enlarged surface area of FTO-MP enhance the separation efficiency.
