For many intraoral soft-tissue surgical procedures the laser has become a desirable and dependable alternative to traditional scalpel surgery. However, the use of dental lasers in periodontal therapy is controversial. This article presents the current peer-reviewed evidence on the use of dental lasers for the treatment of chronic periodontitis.

Delayed inflammatory nodules (DIN) after soft-tissue filler injection may occur after infections, vaccinations, or procedures. We report a DIN from predominantly low-molecular-weight HA (PLMW-HA) filler secondary to COVID-19 infection that was resistant to conservative management, requiring intralesional combination therapy with triamcinolone, 5-fluorouracil, and recombinant human hyaluronidase for resolution.

Objectives: () adheres to the surface of medical devices, forming highly drug-resistant biofilms, which has made the development of novel antibacterial agents against and its biofilms a key research focus. By drug repurposing, this study aims to explore the combinational antimicrobial effects between pinaverium bromide (PVB), a -type calcium channel blocker, and oxacillin (OXA) against .
Methods: Clinical isolates of were collected from January to September 2022 at the Department of Clinical Laboratory of the Third Xiangya Hospital, Central South University.

Objectives: Small interfering RNA (siRNA) can silence disease-related genes through sequence-specific RNA interference (RNAi). Cationic lipid-based liposomes effectively deliver nucleic acids into the cytoplasm but often exhibit significant toxicity. This study aims to synthesize a novel ionizable lipid, Nε-laruoyl-lysine amide (LKA), from natural amino acids, constructed LKA-based liposomes, and perform physicochemical characterization and cell-based experiments to systematically evaluate the potential of these ionizable lipid-based liposomes for nucleic acid delivery.

Objectives: The Ti6Al4V ELI alloy produced via laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) has attracted interest for use in dental applications. However, surface finishing is an important property that can be managed by various methods. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of electropolishing (EP) on the surface roughness and corrosion resistance of L-PBF Ti6Al4V ELI alloy.

CS1 (SLAMF7), a pivotal immune receptor, plays a dual role in modulating immune responses in autoimmune diseases and cancer. In autoimmunity, aberrant CS1 signaling contributes to the activation of autoreactive lymphocytes, driving pathologies such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Conversely, in oncology, CS1 serves as a promising immunotherapeutic target, exemplified by the efficacy of the monoclonal antibody Elotuzumab in multiple myeloma.
