Homogeneous nucleation rates of the n-alkanes (C(i)H(2i+2); i=7-10) were determined by combining information from pressure trace measurements and small angle x-ray scattering (SAXS) experiments in a supersonic Laval nozzle. The condensible vapor pressure p(J max), the temperature T(J max), the characteristic time Deltat(J max), and supersaturation S(J max) corresponding to the peak nucleation rate J(max) were determined during the pressure trace measurements. These measurements also served as the basis for the subsequent SAXS experiments. Fitting the radially averaged SAXS spectrum yielded the mean droplet radius r, 5

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have achieved impressive efficiency, but their commercialization is limited by issues like chemical homogeneity within the perovskite films, leading to defects and phase segregation, which severely compromise the stability and performance of PSCs. This study presents a novel approach to overcoming these barriers by employing N,N-methylenebisacrylamide (MBA) as a multifunctional crosslinking agent within the perovskite structure. MBA enhances chemical uniformity both laterally and vertically, improves crystallinity, and boosts overall film stability by forming a robust crosslinked network that regulates nucleation and growth dynamics during the pre-seeding process.

Nano-AlO derived from recyclable sources emerges as a promising sustainable solution for enhancing diesel engine efficiency while mitigating emissions. However, a lack of an in-depth understanding of the health hazard aspect still challenges its commercial applications. To this end, nano-AlO/diesel (NAD) blends prepared via ultrasonic homogenization were experimentally and analytically investigated under various injection timings and excess air coefficients to explore the potential of nano-AlO for balancing energy performance and emissions.

Molecular self-assembly of amyloid-beta peptides to form fibrillar aggregates is a known cause of Alzheimer's disease. Although homogeneous nucleation of amyloid-beta is unfavorable, heterogeneous nucleation of amyloid-beta in cell membranes plays a key role in fibril formation. We observed these opposite roles in the effects of cholesterol and lanosterol, the precursor of cholesterol in the brain, on nucleation.

Introduction: Primary bone marrow diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is a rare clinical entity, and the "bone marrow-liver-spleen" type of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is rarer, with only a few published cases in literature. Though bone marrow-liver-spleen-type diffuse large B-cell lymphoma has unique presentations such as fever, cytopenias, and hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, no cases with cold autoimmune hemolytic anemia have been reported.

Case Presentation: A 39-year-old Sri Lankan woman, previously healthy, presented with shortness of breath, productive cough, and fever for 4 days.

Flexible perovskite solar cells (FPSCs) have great promise for applications in wearable technology and space photovoltaics. However, the unpredictable crystallization of perovskite on flexible substrates results in significantly lower efficiency and mechanical durability than industry standards. A strategy is investigated employing the polymer electrolyte poly(allylamine hydrochloride) (PAH) to regulate crystallization and passivate defect states in perovskite films on flexible substrates.
