Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction is one of the most important aspects of knee surgery. For this purpose, several fixation devices have been developed, although the interference screw is the most frequently used. The most typical biomechanical test of these devices consists of placing them in a testing machine and subjecting them to a pull-out test. However, insufficient attention has been paid to the influence of the displacement test rate on the mechanical properties of the fixation system. The aim of this study is to compare the influence of the crosshead rate in the biomechanical test of two different devices for the fixation of ACL tendon grafts. One hundred in vitro tests were performed using porcine tibiae and bovine tendons. The fixation devices used were (1) an interference screw and (2) a new expansion device. All ACL reconstructions were subjected to pull-out test to failure. Five crosshead rates were employed in a range from 30 mm/min to 4000 mm/min. Statistical analyses of the results show that, for the two devices, the rate has a significant effect on both maximum force and stiffness. Moreover, the new expansion device showed lesser dependency on the crosshead rate than the interference screw.

Objective: To review the published evidence for the role of cross-head speed on the apparent mechanical properties and bond strength of filled resins to tooth structure in order to identify the causes of inconsistency and contradictory results.
Method: The data for all available mechanical test results for studies involving dental resins at more than one strain rate was collected from 22 papers. Statistical reanalysis using linear regression was used to test the hypothesis that cross-head speed was correlated with the outcome, with the implication of causality, in each case.

Statement Of Problem: The selective laser melting (SLM) manufacturing technique has been widely employed to produce Co-Cr dental metal frameworks. The selection of Co-Cr alloy powders has the potential to influence the microstructure and tensile properties, consequently impacting the bond strength of the metal-porcelain. However, limited information is available regarding the effect of Co-Cr alloy powder on these properties when all other factors remain consistent.

Background: A posterior tooth's occlusal surfaces and the proximal surface can be restored by using an inlay, which is an intra-crown cast reconstruction without affecting the cusps of the tooth. When an inlay is prepared using an indirect approach, issues with traditional filling approaches, including poor morphology of the occlusal aspect or proximal aspect, inadequate resistance to wear, or subpar mechanical qualities of the directly inserted filler substance, are overcome.
Aim: The current study was conducted in order to compare and assess the resistance to fracture of dental materials used in the preparation of inlay restorations indirectly, like composite restorations prepared by laboratories indirectly, inlays formed indirectly of monolithic translucent ceramic derived from zirconia, and inlays formed indirectly of traditional monolithic ceramic derived from zirconia.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the impact of two Er,Cr:YSGG laser surface treatments on the repair bond strength of a dental CAD/CAM resin composite (Brilliant Crios) after artificial aging. Twenty-four resin-based CAD/CAM blocks were cut and 48 rectangular slabs (3 x 12 x 14 mm) were prepared. Preliminary SEM observations indicated the most favorable laser settings regarding surface modification of the tested restorative material.
