The resection specimens from 31 patients with fibrocavernous tuberculosis (FCT) underwent a complex clinical andimmunological study, as well as a morphological one. It was ascertained that partial or extended lymphadenectomy did not always positively correlate with an adequate postoperative immune response and it depended on the morphological features of lymphatic apparatus lesion. The direct results of surgical treatment of patients with FCT suggest that in patients with specific lymphadenitis and cell-mediated immunodeficiency, the frequency of postoperative specific pleuropulmonary complications and their severity considerably exceed those if there is an adequate immune response. In patients with progressive FCT, baseline cell-mediated immunity deficiency is aggravated by surgery, increasing the risk of postoperative specific and nonspecific infectious pleuropulmonary complications.

Hepatitis D virus (HDV) significantly influences the progression of liver diseases. Through clinical observations and database analyses, it has been established that patients coinfected with HDV and hepatitis B virus (HBV) experience accelerated progression toward cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and liver failure compared to those infected solely with HBV. A higher viral load correlates with increased replicative activity, enhanced infectivity, and more severe disease manifestations.

Background: In several studies of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), the regulation of tumorigenesis and therapeutic sensitivity by pyroptosis has been observed. However, a systematic analysis of gasdermin family members (GSDMs, including GSDMA/B/C/D/E and PJVK), which are deterministic executors of pyroptosis, has not yet been reported in HNSC.
Methods: We performed comprehensive analyses of the expression profile, prognostic value, regulatory network, and immune infiltration modulation of GSDMs in HNSC on the basis of a computational approach and bioinformatic analysis of publicly available datasets.

Neurosignaling is increasingly recognized as a critical factor in cancer progression, where neuronal innervation of primary tumors contributes to the disease's advancement. This study focuses on segmenting individual axons within the prostate tumor microenvironment, which have been challenging to detect and analyze due to their irregular morphologies. We present a novel deep learning-based approach for the automated segmentation of axons, AxonFinder, leveraging a U-Net model with a ResNet-101 encoder, based on a multiplexed imaging approach.
