An 8-year-old male neutered British Shorthair cat, weighing 5.12 kg, was referred for chronic mild inappetence, lethargy, bilirubinuria, weight loss and icterus. Diagnostic imaging and serum biochemistry suggested a partial biliary tract obstruction caused by an enlarged pancreas.

Background: Postoperative patients constitute majority of critically ill patients, although factors predicting extubation failure in this group of patients remain unidentified. Aiming to propose clinical predictors of reintubation in postoperative patients, we conducted a post-hoc analysis of a multicenter prospective observational study.
Methods: This study included postoperative critically ill patients who underwent mechanical ventilation for > 24 h and were extubated after a successful 30-min spontaneous breathing trial.

Background: Cardiac magnetic resonance with myocardial stress perfusion (stress CMR) is a non-invasive technique that offers assessment of myocardial function, perfusion, and viability. Regadenoson is a selective cardiac adenosine A2 receptor agonist with fewer side effects than adenosine and a favorable safety profile in older pediatric heart transplant recipients (PHTR). There are limited studies evaluating the hemodynamic response of regadenoson in pediatric patients under general anesthesia (GA).

Introduction: Negative pressure pulmonary edema (NPPE) is a non-cardiogenic pulmonary edema primarily resulting from upper airway obstruction, particularly following laryngospasm during the post-anesthesia recovery period.
Cases Presentation: We report five cases of NPPE that occurred during recovery from general anesthesia at our institution. Among these, four cases were attributed to glossoptosis following extubation, while one case resulted from laryngeal mask displacement.

The aim of this study was to compare the supramaximal currents obtained simultaneously by acceleromyography (AMG) TOF-Watch SX and electromyography (EMG) AF-201P in pediatric patients. Patients aged 2-11 years who underwent elective surgery under general anesthesia were enrolled. AMG and EMG monitors were placed on opposite arms of the patient to stimulate the ulnar nerve and monitor the adductor pollicis muscles following the induction of general anesthesia.
