A 3,3'-orthogonally linked phenothiazine cation radical dimer with methyl substituents at the 2, 2', 4, and 4' positions was synthesized. The dimer was isolated as a stable product which exists in a triplet state due to a torsion angle of ca. 80 degrees between the two phenothiazine units. The tetramer was also synthesized by linking the dimers using a 1,4-phenylene spacer.

Aromatic linker-constructed self-assembled monolayers (Ar-SAMs) with enlarged dipole moment can modulate the work function of indium tin oxide (ITO), thereby improving hole extraction/transport efficiency. However, the specific role of the aromatic linkers between the polycyclic head and the anchoring groups of SAMs in determining the performance of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) remains unclear. In this study, we developed a series of phenothiazine-based Ar-SAMs to investigate how different aromatic linkers could affect molecular stacking, the regulation of substrate work function, and charge carrier dynamics.

Using an ex-situ growth approach, this research fabricated k Carrageenan/Polyacrylamide@magnetite nanocomposites (NCs), (k-Car/PAM@Magnetite NCs). The k-Carrageenan (k-Car) backbone was modified through graft polymerization of acrylamide (PAm) via radical polymerization using ammonium persulfate (APS) as the initiator. N'-N' methylenebisacrylamide (MBAA) was used as the cross-linking agent, and magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) were incorporated to impart magnetic properties.

Modulating Room-Temperature Phosphorescence of Phenothiazine Dioxide via External Heavy Atoms.

Developing pure organic materials with ultralong lifetimes and balanced quantum efficiency is attractive but challenging. In this study, we propose a novel strategy to investigate external heavy atoms by linking molecular emitters with halogen through a flexible alkyl chain. X-ray crystal analysis clearly reveal the halogen C-X-π interactions, which can be tuned by halogen donors, as well as the distance and geometry between them.
