The use of benzenedithiol as a digestant for ammonia-borane spent fuel has been shown to result in tin thiolate compounds which we demonstrate can be recycled, yielding Bu(3)SnH and ortho-benzenedithiol for reintroduction to the ammonia-borane regeneration scheme.

This study focuses on the stoichiometric reactions of {2,6-(PrPO)CH}Co(PMe) with terminal alkynes, thiols, and tin hydrides as part of an effort to develop catalytic, two-electron processes with cobalt. This specific Co(I) pincer complex proves to be effective for cleaving the C(sp)-H, S-H, and Sn-H bonds to give oxidative addition products with the general formula {2,6-(PrPO)CH}CoHX(PMe) (X = alkynyl, thiolate, and stannyl groups) along with the free PMe. These reactions typically reach completion when the substituents on acetylene, sulfur, and tin are electron-withdrawing groups (e.

This study reports the development of a photocatalytic electrochemical aptasensor for the purpose of detecting chloramphenicol (CAP) antibiotic residues in water by utilizing SYBR Green I (SG) and chemically exfoliated MoS (ce-MoS) as synergistically signal-amplification platforms. The Au nanoparticles (AuNPs) were electrodeposited onto the surface of an indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode. After that, the thiolate-modified cDNA, also known as capture DNA, was combined with the aptamer.

Extraordinary low-temperature vapor-phase synthesis of SnS thin films from single molecular precursors is attractive over conventional high-temperature solid-state methods. Molecular-level processing of functional materials is accompanied by several intrinsic advantages such as precise control over stoichiometry, phase selective synthesis, and uniform substrate coverage. We report here on the synthesis of a new heteroleptic molecular precursor containing (i) a thiolate ligand forming a direct Sn-S bond, and (ii) a chelating O^N^N-donor ligand introducing a "launch vehicle"-effect into the synthesized compound, thus remarkably increasing its volatility.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and coordination polymers composed of thiolates as coordinating functional groups are interesting materials with unique optical and electronical properties. Herein, we report the preparation of KGF-4 and KGF-10, two Sn-MOF crystal structures with bonds between Sn and thiolate. KGF-10 was isolated as a pure phase and found to exhibit redox properties and a semiconducting band structure, as confirmed by first-principles (density functional theory) calculations.

The basic photoactive matrixes on transparent electrodes are essential for the performance of photoelectrochemical (PEC) biosensors. Herein, we demonstrate an optimized fabrication strategy toward a reliable ITO/TiO2/AuNP photoanode by sequential deposition of TiO2/Au nanoparticles (Au NPs) on indium tin oxide (ITO) substrates. The identified fabrication conditions include spin-coating tetraisopropyl titanate on ITO slices followed by in situ electrodeposition of Au NPs and finally the thermal annealing treatment.
