Persistent Müllerian duct syndrome with transverse testicular ectopia is a rare pathologic association. A 7-month-old boy was admitted to the emergency department with a right testicular swelling. Physical examination revealed a tender right testis, the upper limits of which could not be palpated. The left testis was impalpable. An ultrasound revealed a normal right testis with an evident blood flow, overcome by a similar mass but avascular. At surgery, the right hernial sac contained both testes with an infantile uterus and fallopian tubes. The left testis was viable after manipulation. Proximal-salpingectomy with corporeal hysterectomy was performed to allow bilateral scrotal orchiopexy.

Objective: To assess the effectiveness of cognitive functional therapy (CFT) in reducing disability and pain compared to other interventions in chronic spinal pain patients.

Methods: Five databases were queried to October 2023 for retrieving randomized controlled trials (RCTs), including patients with chronic spinal pain and administering CFT. Primary outcomes were disability and pain.

In order to make the drugs can cure the tumor precisely, this paper establishes the tumor immune dynamic model through the differential equation of tumor growth and analyzes the persistence of the tumor immune model. Research on dual anticancer drugs and commonly used coupling methods is carried out to complete the synthesis of polyethylene glycol dual anticancer drug couplers and the antitumor activity is analyzed to derive the degree of inhibition of polyethylene glycol dual anticancer drugs on tumor activity. From the four judging criteria, it was concluded that the polyethylene glycol bis-anti-cancer drug has a better curative effect on tumor cells.

Background: Outcomes following surgery to operatively manage extremity fractures are variable, and up to two-thirds of patients report chronic post-surgical pain. Preliminary evidence suggests that psychotherapy directed at improving coping skills and reducing somatic vigilance may improve outcomes among fracture patients. The objective of this pilot study was to test the feasibility and acceptability of a randomized controlled trial comparing an online cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) program versus usual care in patients with an operatively managed open or closed extremity fracture.

Department of Biomaterials and Biomedical Technology, University Medical Center Groningen, Antonius Deusinglaan 1, Groningen, The Netherlands.

Background: In vivo evaluations of the antimicrobial efficacy of biomaterials often use bioluminescent imaging modalities based on bioluminescent bacteria to allow follow-up in single animals. Bioluminescence production by bacteria is dependent on their metabolic activity. It is well known that several factors can influence the metabolism of bacteria, such as the use of antimicrobials and changes in bacterial growth phase.
