Deep eutectic solvents (DES) have emerged as versatile, sustainable media for the synthesis of nanomaterials due to their low toxicity, tunability, and biocompatibility. This study develops a one-step method to modify commercially available screen-printed electrodes (SPE) using laser-induced pyrolysis of DES, consisting of choline chloride and tartaric acid with dissolved nickel acetate and dispersed graphene. The electrodes were patterned using a 532 nm continuous-wave laser for the in situ formation of Ni nanoparticles decorated on graphene sheets directly on the SPE surface (Ni-G/SPE).

The evaluation of the effect of laser in disinfection of root canal in pulp regenerative therapy, if found effective laser can be used for root canal disinfection in cases of regenerative endodontic therapy. This study includes a systematic review addressing the question of whether laser is effective in root canal treatment in regenerative endodontic therapy. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs), case series, and animal studies evaluating the effect of laser-assisted endodontic irrigation in pulp regenerative therapy were included.

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs) are gaining attraction for large-scale energy storage systems due to their high safety, significant capacity, cost-effectiveness, and environmental friendliness. On the other hand, the development of aqueous ZIBs is restricted by the limited practical application of zinc (Zn) because of the high reactivity of Zn in aqueous electrolytes, which results in the severe dendrite growth and parasitic side reactions such as hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). In this study, heteroatom-doped carbon porous surface modification by laser-assisted carbonization of copper (Cu) doped polyaniline (PANI) is designed and fabricated on top of the Zn metal anode (c-Cu-PANI/Zn).

Article Synopsis
  • Pulmonary metastasectomy (PM) is effective for treating oligometastatic cancer and aims to preserve lung function and quality of life through a lung-sparing surgical approach.
  • The manuscript discusses the authors' experience with a unique technique called uniportal laser-assisted VATS (U-LA-VATS) for PM, emphasizing the use of specialized laser equipment and tools during the procedure.
  • Out of 98 patients who had PM between March 2021 and November 2023, 24 were treated with the laser-assisted method, with the study presenting their results and comparing them to existing literature on the topic.
