This study aimed to analyze the relation between university students' perceived norms and actual drug use among their peers. This cross-sectional study was based on a survey. Evaluations involved all second- and third-year students (ages between 18 and 24 years) of the nursing and medicine courses at the Faculdade de Medicina do ABC, located in the city of Santo André, Brazil. Students were invited to answer a questionnaire that evaluated several variables, including their own drug use and their perception of their peers' drug use. In total, 274 students participated. Data analysis was performed using SPSS and descriptive techniques, including frequencies and means. There was an overestimation of the perception regarding drug use in relation to the actual frequency reported by the students.

Latent fingerprints (LFPs) are invisible impressions that need to be developed before being used for criminal investigation; however, existing fingerprint visualization techniques face challenges, such as complex preparation and poor contrast. To advance practical fingerprint detection, green-emissive micron-sized curcumin/kaolin composites were synthesized a facile and cost-effective one-step physical cross-linking method, which exhibited unprecedented performance in developing diversified marks, including LFPs, knuckle prints, palm prints, and footprints, with clear three-level details on various substrates. Notably, the powders successfully developed LFPs that were aged for 30 days and even up to 100 days, meeting the stringent requirements for comprehensive forensic application.

Background: Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA) is a neurodegenerative disorder primarily affecting language abilities, with clinical variants (nonfluent/agrammatic variant [nfvPPA], semantic variant [svPPA], logopenic variant [lvPPA], and mixed-PPA [mPPA]) categorized based on linguistic features. This study aims to compare PPA cohorts of native speakers of two different languages: English (an analytic language with deep orthography) and Italian (a synthetic language with shallow orthography).
Methods: We considered 166 English participants (70 nfvPPA, 45 svPPA, 42 lvPPA, 9 mPPA) and 106 Italian participants (14 nfvPPA, 20 svPPA, 42 lvPPA, 31 mPPA).

Objectives: Stigma is known to be a major barrier to treatment for people who use drugs (PWUD). This study uses the Stigma and Health Discrimination Framework to analyze how different forms of stigma shape experiences in the wake of an overdose incident, and perceptions of the efficacy and utility of postoverdose interventions among a sample of PWUD in Dayton, Ohio-a location with a high overdose rate.
Methods: Interviews were conducted with 23 individuals who self-reported past-month illicit opioid, crack/cocaine, or methamphetamine use who had experienced or witnessed a drug overdose in the past 6 months.
