Larrea divaricata is a plant used in Argentina. The aim was to analyze the participation of H2O2 in the antiproliferative effect of L divaricata on BW5147 cells. Different studies were performed: proliferation, viability, nitrite production, apoptosis, oxygen reducing activity, NF-kappa B translocation, H2O2 production, H2O2 scavenging activity, and effect on exogenous superoxide dismutase. The extract decreased proliferation and induced apoptosis through P-38 and ERK pathways. The extract activated Mn2+-SOD, increasing H2O2, which was implicated in the antiproliferative mechanism by the increase of Nitric oxide (NO). New drugs, which can increase H2O2, could be a therapeutic strategy for the treatment of cancer.

Bioactive functional coatings constitute a trendy topic due to they reduce postharvest fruit losses worldwide. Also, they could be carriers of biocompounds providing health benefits to the consumer. In this work, an innovative natural bioactive coating based on Natural Deep Eutectic Solvents (NADES) and Larrea divaricata extract was optimized by mixture-mixture design for the management of postharvest diseases caused by Monilinia fructicola.

Relationships between genome size and environmental variables suggest that DNA content might be adaptive and of evolutionary importance in plants. The genus provides an interesting system to test this hypothesis, since it shows both intra- and interspecific variation in genome size. has an amphitropical distribution in North and South American deserts, where it is most speciose.

Background: Dengue virus (DENV) is considered one of the most important pathogens in the world causing 390 million infections each year. Currently, the development of vaccines against DENV presents some shortcomings and there is no antiviral therapy available for its infection. An important challenge is that both treatments and vaccines must be effective against all four DENV serotypes.
