The tele-X-ray photographs of 108 patients with single-sided cleft lips and palate were compared with 71 normal controls. The examination proved that a basic crane structure difference can be found between the groups. The group with cleft has a characteristic face with significant skeletal and dental changes. Such features have to be considered in the course of habilitation.

The understanding of neuroimmune function has evolved from concepts of immune privilege and protection to a new stage of immune interaction. The discovery of skull meninges channels (SMCs) has opened new avenues for understanding central nervous system (CNS) immunity. Here, we characterize skull bone marrow and SMCs by detailing the anatomical structures adjacent to the skull, the differences between skull and peripheral bone marrow, mainstream animal processing methods, and the role of skull bone marrow in monitoring various CNS diseases.

Introduction: Endolymphatic sac tumor (ELST) is a rare neoplasm that exhibits aggressive growth primarily in the endolymphatic capsule and can potentially affect nearby neurovascular structures. The diagnosis of ELST poses challenges due to its low prevalence, gradual progression, and nonspecific symptomatology. It is currently believed that prompt surgical intervention is recommended for endolymphatic sac tumors upon diagnosis.

Analysis of the symmetry of the brain hemispheres at the level of individual structures and dominant tissue features has been the subject of research for many years in the context of improving the effectiveness of imaging methods for the diagnosis of brain tumor, stroke, and Alzheimer's disease, among others. One useful approach is to reliably determine the midline of the brain, which allows comparative analysis of the hemispheres and uncovers information on symmetry/asymmetry in the relevant planes of, for example, CT scans. Therefore, an effective method that is robust to various geometric deformations, artifacts, varying noise characteristics, and natural anatomical variability is sought.

Despite its importance, our understanding of human-specific craniofacial developmental mechanisms and their genetic underpinnings remains limited. Here, we present a comprehensive single-nucleus RNA sequencing (snRNA-seq) atlas of human craniofacial development from craniofacial tissues of 24 embryos that span six key time points during the embryonic period (4-8 post-conception weeks).

Research on bone substitutes for repairing bone defects has drawn increasing attention, and the efficacy of three-dimensional (3D) printed bioactive porous scaffolds for bone defect repair has been well documented. Our previous studies have shown that psoralen can promote osteogenesis by activating the Wnt/β-catenin and BMP/Smad signaling pathways and their crosstalk effects, and psoralen nanospheres have a good osteogenesis-promoting effect with low cytotoxicity. The Chinese medicine oyster shell powder, characterized by its porous structure, strong adsorption, and unique bioactivity, has potential in fracture-promoting repair materials.
