Chronic osteomyelitis of the skull base is a commonly reported pathology in existing scientific literature, but chronic osteomyelitis of the skull vault (COSV) is a rarely documented disease. We report the case of a 38 years old Afghan male with a presenting complaint of irregular swelling on the skull vault for six months. The patient had a history of head trauma one year back with a compound depressed fracture which had been surgically managed then.

Background: Arteriovenous fistulas involving the anterior abdominal wall can result from trauma. Such fistulas may remain asymptomatic and undetected for a prolonged duration of time. They tend to recruit multiple arterial feeders with remodelling in the feeding arteries, making them challenging to treat.

The majority of contemporary total hip arthroplasty (THA) implants are constructed from Ti alloys, which are generally believed to generate fewer adverse local tissue reactions (ALTRs) compared to CoCr alloys. This study presents a case of unusual primary THA failure where a substantial release of Ti alloy debris was observed. A 52-year-old active male underwent THA after post-traumatic aseptic necrosis of the femoral head in 2006.

They can happen due to direct injury or blunt force, with the middle cerebral artery being the most frequent site.
