Intra- and extracellular Plasmodium parasites in fixed blood smears are easily identifiable by fluorescence microscopy after brief mordanting with aluminum ammonium sulfate and staining with morin (3,5,7,1',4'-pentahydroxyflavanol). The intensely fluorescent preparations of stained parasites are strongly resistant to photodegradation and remained essentially unimpaired for two years.

Background: Bone marrow (BM) in addition to being the origin of primary hematological malignancies is also commonly involved in metastatic solid tumors. Bone marrow examination includes aspiration and biopsy, and it is a well-known procedure not only to diagnose hematological malignancies but also for staging and prognosis of various solid tumors. The presence of metastasis in the bone marrow is of grave prognostic significance and it is imperative to rule out marrow involvement in any malignancy where curative treatment is considered.

Background: Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) is an extremely rare type of vasculitis characterized by inflammation within small blood vessels or tissues that may cause damage to the lungs, heart, kidneys, and other organs. Here, we present a rare case of EGPA with cardiac involvement that presented with acute heart failure.
Clinical Findings: A 44-year-old woman with a history of bronchial asthma and sinusitis presented with fever, shortness of breath, fatigue, unintentional weight loss, and polyarthritis.
Background: Babesiosis poses significant risks of adverse outcomes in individuals with immunocompromising conditions (IC) and asplenia/hyposplenia (AH). This study compares clinical outcomes between these vulnerable groups and immunocompetent patients.
Methods: A multicenter retrospective cohort study included adult patients with laboratory-confirmed babesiosis from 2009 to 2023.

Background: Malaria is a major public health problem in the Central African Republic (CAR). Data on malaria epidemiology are often derived from confirmed cases of symptomatic malaria using passive detection approaches, with very limited knowledge of the extent of subclinical and submicroscopic infections.
Methods: A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted in Bangui, the capital of the CAR, to assess the prevalence of subclinical malaria parasitaemia.
