Objectives: The objective of the present study was to determine the effect of zinc aspartate on myringosclerosis in perforated rat tympanic membrane.
Patients And Methods: Fifteen Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into three groups each containing five rats. Automicroscopic examinations were performed and then all rats were bilaterally myringotomized. Group 1 received no treatment. Group 2 was treated with intraperitoneal injection of physiological saline and group 3 with intraperitoneal injection of zinc aspartate. Tympanic bullas were harvested after 20 days. Histopathological evaluation was carried out under the light microscope.
Results: When the groups were compared in the light of the myringosclerotic findings, while there was no significant difference between group 1 and 2 (p=1.00), it was found that there were significant differences between group 1 and 3, and between group 2 and 3 (p<0.03).
Conclusion: It appears that zinc aspartat treatment has beneficial effects on prevention or retardation of the development of myringosclerosis, but further studies are needed to clarify this effect.

Zinc aspartate and zinc citrate have been used as zinc supplements in different health conditions. Taking into consideration their anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, anti-oxidant and antimicrobial properties, the present study has been designed to analyse the effect of zinc aspartate and zinc citrate treatment at therapeutic dose level on disease severity index, haematological, serological, antimicrobial and radiological markers of rheumatoid arthritis in Wistar rats. Bactericidal potential of the two organic zinc compounds was analysed in vitro in clinically isolated Escherichia coli.

The Expert Panel for Cosmetic Ingredient Safety (Panel) assessed the safety of 27 inorganic and organometallic zinc salts as used in cosmetic formulations; these salts are specifically of the (II) oxidation state cation of zinc. These ingredients included in this report have various reported functions in cosmetics, including hair conditioning agents, skin conditioning agents, cosmetic astringents, cosmetic biocides, preservatives, oral care agents, buffering agents, bulking agents, chelating agents, and viscosity increasing agents. The Panel reviewed the relevant data for these ingredients, and concluded that these 27 ingredients are safe in cosmetics in the present practices of use and concentration described in this safety assessment when formulated to be non-irritating.

We examined whether supplementation of zinc magnesium aspartate (ZMA), while partially sleep deprived, was beneficial to sleep quality and subsequent morning (07:00 h) submaximal weightlifting. Using a double-blinded, randomized counterbalanced design, sixteen trained males were recruited and completed six sessions: (i) one repetition max (1 RM) for bench press and back squat; (ii) two familiarisation sessions; (iii) three conditions with 4 h sleep and either: ZMA, placebo (PLA), or NoPill control (NoPill). Submaximal exercise session consisted of three repetitions at 40, 60 and 80% of 1 RM for bench press and back squat.

The stability of aqueous Zn-ion batteries (AZIBs) is detrimentally influenced by the formation of Zn dendrites and the occurrence of parasitic side reactions at the Zn metal anode (ZMA)-electrolyte interface. The strategic manipulation of the preferential crystal orientation during Zn plating serves as an essential approach to mitigate this issue. Here, Zn aspartate (Zn-Asp), an electrolyte additive for AZIBs, is introduced not only to optimize the solvation structure of Zn , but also to crucially promote preferential Zn plating on the (002) crystal plane of ZMA.

This preliminary study investigated the fractional Zn absorption (FZA) after the supplementation on eight healthy volunteers with three different Zn complexes acquired with milk. (2) Methods: The design was a double-blind, three-period crossover trial.
