The results of surgical treatment in 24 patients suffering chronic duodenal impassability (CDI), caused by various mechanical reasons, were analyzed. The most frequent of them were pancreatic cancer, arteriomesentery compression, pancreatic pseudocyst, volumic formations, adhesive deformity of duodenojejunal juncture, duodenal polyposis. There was proposed the method of duodenal arteriomesentery compression correction, which permits to restore effectively the duodenal motor-evacuatory function. While choosing the method of CDI it is necessary to pay attention to its etiologic cause.

Background: Prepancreatic postduodenal portal vein (PPPV) is a rare anatomic variant where the portal vein (PV) runs anterior to the pancreas and posterior to the duodenum. Only 20 cases of PPPV, all in adults, have been reported in literature. We report the first case of PPPV in a pediatric patient discovered intraoperatively during total pancreatectomy with islet autotransplantation (TPIAT) and the third known case in which the PPPV could be isolated intraoperatively.

Despite exhibiting normal gastrointestinal mucosa upon endoscopy, biopsy analysis revealed chronic gastritis accompanied by the presence of Sarcina ventriculi in a tetrad arrangement across the stomach, duodenum, and distal esophagus. Interestingly, immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining targeting the Helicobacter pylori organism (H.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is marked by chronic hyperglycemia, gradually worsening β-cell failure, and insulin resistance. Glucotoxicity and oxidative stress cause β-cell failure by increasing reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, impairing insulin secretion, and disrupting transcription factors such as pancreatic and duodenal homeobox 1 (PDX-1) and musculoaponeurotic fibrosarcoma oncogene family A (MafA). Cluster determinant 36 (CD36), an essential glycoprotein responsible for fatty acid uptake, exacerbates oxidative stress and induces the apoptosis of β-cells under hyperglycemic conditions through pathways involving ceramide, thioredoxin-interacting protein (TXNIP), and Rac1-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate oxidase (NOX)-mediated redoxosome formation.

Background: Groove pancreatitis (GP) is a form of pancreatitis that affects the pancreaticoduodenal groove area, which lies between the head of the pancreas, the second part of the duodenum and the distal bile duct, presenting as abdominal pain and gastric outlet obstruction. In this study, we present the clinical and radiological characteristics of individuals diagnosed with groove pancreatitis at our center and discuss the use of a conservative treatment approach in managing GP.
Methods: The data of patients with groove pancreatitis treated at our center between January 2012 and December 2021 was analyzed.

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), a pervasive pathobiont, colonizes the gastric mucosa and plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of several gastroduodenal pathologies ranging from chronic gastritis to more severe disorders including peptic ulcer disease, gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma, and gastric adenocarcinoma. In symptomatic patients, endoscopy and histological examination of the gastric mucosa are the preferred tests for diagnosing H.
